How to use the Trading Card Grading Finder
The Cards Mania Trading Card Grading Finder is designed to answer a more useful question than simply “Which grading company is best?” It asks: which grading services can actually handle my card, from my country, for the service I need?
Choose your country, card type, autograph status and grading goal. You can also enter an approximate declared value and the number of cards you plan to submit. The finder then checks those requirements against verified submission routes, service restrictions and published pricing information.
A grading company can be well known and still be a poor match for a particular submission. Some graders accept cards only from certain regions. Others use authorized partners, restrict autograph services, require minimum quantities or publish different services and prices for different markets.

What do “Eligible” and “Conditional” mean?
The finder deliberately separates a verified match from a route that still needs confirmation. Missing information is not silently converted into a “yes.”
The database contains enough verified information to confirm that the submission route and every required service match the details you entered.
The grader may still be a valid option, but at least one important point requires confirmation. This may involve return shipping, regional availability, a partner route or an autograph restriction.
Why so strict? If a grading company does not clearly publish whether a particular service or route is available, Cards Mania keeps that uncertainty visible rather than guessing.
What grading costs does the finder compare?
Where a grading company publishes usable pricing, the finder can show the relevant published grading or authentication service fee in its original currency.
The pricing engine can also account for verified requirements such as:
- declared-value limits;
- minimum submission quantities;
- membership requirements;
- autograph or authentication add-ons;
- service-tier availability;
- published turnaround information.
A published grading fee is not automatically your total landed cost. Return shipping, insurance, VAT, import duties, customs charges and other cross-border expenses can depend on your location and the individual submission.
Unless those additional costs can be verified reliably, the finder leaves them out rather than estimating them. It also does not silently convert USD, EUR, GBP, CAD or other currencies simply to manufacture a “cheapest” result.
Card grading and autograph authentication are not the same thing
This distinction matters, especially with signed cards. A grading company may provide several completely different services, and availability of one does not automatically imply availability of another.
A grader may be able to:
- grade the physical condition of a card;
- authenticate the card itself;
- authenticate an autograph;
- assign a numerical grade to the appearance of an autograph;
- provide separate numerical grades for the card and autograph;
- accept manufacturer-certified or pack-pulled autographs but not aftermarket signatures;
- authenticate only signatures witnessed through an approved signing program;
- encapsulate an authentic item without assigning a condition grade.
For example, the ability to give an autograph a numerical appearance grade does not automatically mean that the company authenticates the signature. The finder keeps these capabilities separate.

How we verify grading companies
This finder is built from a structured research database rather than a simple list of popular grading brands. Each company is researched at the company, submission-route and individual-service level.
Depending on the grader, the database can track:
- current company status;
- collector submission regions;
- direct, regional and authorized-partner routes;
- intake and processing locations;
- return coverage;
- sports, TCG and non-sports card eligibility;
- manufacturer-certified and aftermarket autograph policies;
- authentication and autograph-grading services;
- published grading tiers;
- quantity and declared-value restrictions;
- turnaround information;
- temporary service pauses and regional limitations.
Primary sources such as official service pages, submission instructions, pricing pages, FAQs, shipping policies and current terms are prioritized. When a generic marketing statement conflicts with a more specific current submission or shipping rule, the more specific rule takes precedence.
Affiliate relationships do not affect grading eligibility, ranking or the matching logic in the finder.
Grading companies can change prices, turnaround estimates, submission routes and regional availability without much warning. Always confirm important details on the grader’s official website before mailing a valuable card.

Before you send a card for grading
Once you have chosen a grading route, check the company’s current packaging and submission instructions. Different graders can have different rules for sleeves, semi-rigid holders, forms, labels, declared values and package preparation.

Trading Card Grading Finder FAQ
Does the finder tell me which grading company is best?
No. There is no universally best grader for every card and every collector. The finder identifies services and routes that match your location and submission requirements. It does not rank grading companies by resale value, brand prestige or investment potential.
Why does a result say “Conditional”?
A Conditional result means the company may be usable, but at least one important detail still needs confirmation. Examples include destination-specific return shipping, authorized-partner requirements, regional service limitations or conditional autograph policies.
Why is there no price for some grading companies?
Not every grader publishes a clear current price for every service or region. Cards Mania does not invent or estimate a grading fee when a usable public price cannot be verified.
Does the displayed grading price include shipping, VAT and customs?
Usually not. The finder shows verified published service fees where available. Return shipping, insurance, VAT, customs duties and other cross-border costs are included only when they can be modeled reliably from published information.
Can I use the finder for autographed cards?
Yes. The finder distinguishes between manufacturer-certified or pack-pulled autographs, aftermarket or in-person signatures and new signatures that need to be witnessed. It also treats autograph authentication and autograph grading as separate services.
Can I use the finder for Pokémon and other TCG cards?
Yes. The database separately tracks TCG, sports and non-sports eligibility because not every grading company or regional submission route accepts the same types of cards.
Can I use it for sports cards?
Yes. Sports-card eligibility is tracked independently from TCG and non-sports services. The finder can therefore exclude a regional route that accepts TCG cards but does not currently accept sports cards.
How current is the grading information?
The underlying database is periodically checked against official grading-company sources. The current full verification date is displayed on this page. Prices, turnaround estimates and submission policies can change, so always verify time-sensitive details before sending a valuable card.
